Join us for a Spring Bank holiday celebration on the weekend of Saturday 27th May until Monday 29th May.
We’re celebrating our transformation from ‘Bookstore Brierlow Bar’, to ‘High Peak Bookstore and Café’, with a long weekend of events.
There’s Ferret Racing outside, where you can watch the fur fly with the added bonus of ‘Ferret Roulette’, throughout the weekend.
On Sunday 28th at 2.30pm, we’re presenting the choral harmonies of ‘The Village Choir’ with performances by Mike Hansford and Samantha Plumbley, with a selection of Middle Earth music written by Donald Swann and J.R.R Tolkein.
This music includes songs such as ‘The Road Goes Ever On’, ‘Upon the Hearth the Fire is Red’, ‘In the Willow-Meads of Tsarinan’, ‘In Western Lands’, ‘Namárie’ and ‘Sit Beside the Fire’.
You can also experience wildlife such as the unique Harris Hawk, which is the only bird of prey to hunt in family groups.
Other attractions include Face Painting, and a great selection of snacks and light meals from our new café kitchen. Plus, of course as always we have a fabulous selection of highly affordable, great quality books to browse.
So call in and help us celebrate! We look forward to seeing you.
